Each of the chapters dealing with a given category have the following
components:
- the for the respective category,
from the [&make_named_href('',
"node323.html#moca","[Monachini, Calzolari 93]")] document, as a reminder and
link to the other EAGLES documents, and as a link with other
languages;
- a (and, in part, a type graph),
to show the subclassification operated within each category;
- a description the (``central
semantics'') of the respective class; this section may contain
(human-processable or in part automatically applicable) tests to
verify class membership;
- indicating with which other
broad classes the elements of the considered class could be
confused, possibly with delimitation tests;
- defining the relevant features and
their values, along with examples for each feature-value pair;
- containing
pairwise delimitation criteria and examples, to illustrate
distinctions at the level of feature values;
- an repeating the most relevant examples
discussed in the section, with a distinctive context;
- The document has, at its end, a
which allows to efficiently retrieve the sections where certain
words are described.
These devices mostly serve definitional or reference purposes as well
as the purpose of giving guidance to annotators. Below we list them
again, indicating the primary use of each:
