The oblique case in Italian could be further analysed as a
meta-value which is in replacement relation with
the three values dative, accusative and
prepositional, i.e. headed by preposition.
This further distinction at the level of case - which in the table of
the Morphosyntax document is represented with the label R plus the
index 1 pointing to the values
it replaces
(on their turn marked by the index 1)
- could be handled here with a feature
Oblique-Type whose values are dative, accusative and
prepositional.
Please note that, if one has a lexicon encoded with this level of
detail and wants to reach the same depht of analysis at the level of
text tagging, manual or, hopefully,
semi-automatic means should be used, as homographies occur between the
following cases:
- accusative and prepositional in the series
of strong personal pronouns;
- accusative and dative in the series
of weak personal pronouns.
The possible homographies are displyed in the confusion tables below:
Please note that in the weak class,
the following pronouns of 3rd person are
not ambiguous between dative and accusative:
type=pers, inflect=weak | |||
D e s c r i p t i o n | E x a m p l e s | ||
lo | lo/acc ama | ||
