The value auxiliary is used to encode the verbs avere and
essere.
In Italian, at the lexicon level, the two
potential auxiliaries essere and avere are marked as
aux, i.e. without distinguishing the cases in which they are
used as main verbs: Marco ha=mai un bel cane vs.
Marco ha=aux amato molto Maria. The disambiguation of the two
auxiliaries, when used as main verbs (and of the verb essere also
its use as copula (ho=mai (possiedo) un
cane; sono=mai (sto) nel prato; sono=cop molto stanco),
can be specified, if necessary, at the level of tagging by manual
or semi-automatic means.
