EAGLES should provide a stable, robust, practical core
dictionary layout which is extensible. This implies an ordering
of the topics to be dealt with: the simple and relatively easily
described facts should be treated in the core of the EAGLES
recommendations, more problematic or controversial things in
later extensions.
Extensibility implies keeping track of possibilities of adding
and/or (whole classes of) descriptive devices, e.g.
lexical rules (in syntax, morphology, semantics, etc.).
